FAQ

  • WHAT IS THE BEST WAY TO GET IN TOUCH WITH YOU?

We can be reached at: info@albertabulldogrescue.com as we do not have a phone number. Alberta Bulldog Rescue is run entirely by volunteers so you may not receive a response right away – please be patient. We do not have an office and all of our dogs are placed in foster homes.

  • DO YOU ADOPT OUT OF PROVINCE?

At this time, we current do not adopt outside of Alberta.

  • HOW MANY BULLDOGS DO HAVE IN RESCUE?

The number of Bulldogs in our care vary. If you are interested in adoption the best thing to do is fill out an adoption form.

  • CAN I ADOPT A DOG AS A PRESENT FOR SOMEONE ELSE?

No. We do not believe a dog is an appropriate gift to give to someone else. Dogs are and should be a life time commitment.

  • I HAVE NOTICED THAT COMMENTS ARE REMOVED FROM FACEBOOK, WHY AND WHO DECIDES WHAT COMMENTS ARE NOT APPROPRIATE?

We do, and comments that are not constructive, are disrespectful or are made regarding the status or results of an application, or our policies are deleted and some users are banned from our page.

  • ARE YOU WILLING TO NEGOTIATE ON THE PRICE OF YOUR ADOPTION FEES?

Sorry, we will not. Please read the information on our page about how and why our fees are set the way they are.

  • DO YOU ADOPT DOGS THAT HAVE NOT BEEN SPAYED OR NEUTERED?

No. Do not ask us to reconsider, we will not help anyone breed and contribute to the problem of irresponsible breeding, over population and thousands of dogs being killed in shelters every year.

  • DO YOU RECOMMEND BREEDERS IF PEOPLE WANT TO PURCHASE A PUPPY?

Without breeders, bulldogs would not exist, there are breeders who our board members respect based on their breeding practises, attitudes in general, kennel conditions and whether or not we have been invited out to see their homes & meet their dogs. While ABR does not endorse any breeder, you can ask our board members at meet ups for their opinions if they care to share. We are also made aware of irresponsible breeders, breeders that do not live up to the promises they make on their websites, and back yard breeders. We strongly recommend to everyone that if you are considering purchasing a puppy, that you are not fooled by flashy or witty webpages and that you do your own extensive research starting here: [ Link ]

  • I AM GOING AWAY ON VACATION, CAN ABR HELP ME CARE FOR MY BULLDOG WHILE I AM AWAY BY OFFERING MY DOG A FOSTER HOME TO STAY WITH FOR A COUPLE WEEKS?

As we have a limited amount of fosters, our volunteers resources are used only for the bulldogs in our care.

  • I EMAILED/POSTED ON FACEBOOK/TWITTER. IS THERE A REASON I HAVE NOT RECEIVED A RESPONSE?

We are volunteers and have full-time jobs, families and dogs of our own. We do our best to respond to everything but sometimes admin work and emails may not get answered right away. We do not answer application questions on Facebook, but our Facebook page is to discuss our rescue and our dogs. Please be patient and we will answer your email or questions as soon as possible.
